Jordan is the proud owner of The JFM boxing club in Marina del Rey, California. JFM is a place where everyone seems to know your name, and it feels like an extension of home because everyone treats each other like family. That’s a testament to Jordan’s sense of how to demand respect, and still treat people with respect, and then manage to keep a constant positive attitude that is truly exceptional. Jordan’s passion for boxing as a sport keeps him grounded with a charming humble demeanor. He’s also one of the goofiest people you’ll meet with jokes and quirks that never end, including his daily need to have ‘The Jordan Bowl’ for breakfast. Yep, that’s right - the cafe next door named a breakfast bowl after him because he ordered the exact same thing every day for almost 5 years. That’s Jordan. His boxing journey began in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Kingston, Jamaica where Jordan was born and raised. At 15 years old, he immigrated to the states with his mom, where he soon discovered Redwood’s boxing club in Marina del Rey. He went in one day and everything changed - he found the thing that he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He began to train 5 hours a day 7 days a week and pretty soon Redwood was teaching Jordan to become a trainer. A year or so later Redwood suddenly abandoned the gym and didn’t come back - Jordan stepped up and took over. He kept things running by teaching classes and managing other trainers all without pay. A few months later, the lights went off and the landlord locked the doors. Seemed like the gig was up, but it became apparent how many people had come to love and depend on Jordan. Jordan’s clients had become family, and so they backed him to open up his own gym. JFM boxing club was born! At age 19 Jordan was committed - nothing would get in his way. JFM has been fully booked on a regular basis since then. Now that Jordan has crossed the 30-year-old barrier, there's no end in sight. A life of boxing, raising his son, snowboarding, video games, and his namesake ‘Jordan’ bowl at Cafe Buna are the things that make this man so very happy.
